Why go to Stellenbosch?

Stellenbosch is a beautiful old town which was founded in 1679, there are many a historical building and fine examples of Dutch, Georgian and Victorian architecture. The streets are lined with old oak trees which provide welcome shade during the summer and a stark skyline during winter. The most famous shop (a must see) is Oom Samie se Winkel.

This charming university town is world renowned for its wine farms and estates. The Stellenbosch wine route was the first in South Africa and remains the most popular with each wine farm and estate along the route having a unique ambience and wine selection.
